Why redesign when you can evolve?
I finally feel good about how Cottleston Pie is represented on the web. I now have a homepage that properly represents the last five years of hard work.
It’s taken a long time for me to get here.
But this new homepage design didn’t come out of nowhere. It was an evolution from a very simple homepage design back in 2012 and it’s grown into a fully-fledged homepage representing a design studio with a lot of work.
There’s a post on its way that goes into much more detail about the thinking behind the new homepage. But I thought it would be fun to quickly show the progression from a landing page that I whipped up in a few minutes back into 2012 to the homepage as it is today.
If you’re interested in looking into more details of these pages, I’ve put up screenshots to view:
- First homepage layout (2012)
- Second homepage layout (2014)
- Third homepage layout (2015)
- Fourth and current homepage layout (2017)[link to live site]
